July 19th San Francisco:- Let’s be honest, right now WAVE NOT WAVE is the hottest party in the city, no
lie! Every Tuesday night at the Beauty Bar this hot rock n roll party brings in
San Francisco’s finest guest DJ’s… and last week the Killers stopped by and
partied with us. It is a blast, with Visuals by Spencer Mack and three go-go
dancer there is plenty of eye candy… I heard a it said somewhere once – “If
you build it they will come” Well the city has been hungry for a legit party
and they are coming out in force.
In other EPIC news BONER PARTY is celebrating its ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY on
Wednesday July 28th. This is gonna be one of the wildest, hottest parties this
summer. Have you heard of Dj Richie Panic? Google that shit and see the madness
that is that man. We are stoked he holds his weekly BONER Party at the Beauty
Bar for you, the people. Were you there on Cinco De Mayo? Then I don’t have to
tell you any more, The crowd was literally one step away from rioting. RICHIE is
one of SF’s best known and loved DJ’s the whole country over, so you can feel
spoiled that you get to party with him every week. While kids in NYC, PHILLY and
the ATL are patiently waiting months for the next time he touches down in their
city!
July 2nd Chicago: Holy Kelly Kapowski, Zack! On July 2nd, Myopenbar hosted ‘The Max!’ A 90s themed party (Saved By The Bell Edition). We couldn’t have been more excited (and it wasn’t the caffeine pills – we’re looking at you Jesse Spano). DJs featuring Autobot (of Flosstradamus), Team Bayside High & Gemini Club rocked the party and even helped to facilitate an impromptu break dance party. And oh yes, people were definitely doing ‘the Sprain. Check out these photos (and fashionable ‘90s sweats!) that Glitter Guts captured.
We concluded our second week of being opening with DJ Miles and DJ Lindsey of NYC with their notorious ’88-’98 dance party The Hump. Playing all my favorite jams. From Biggie Smalls to Salt and Peppa, I worked out all week to prepare my gams for the jams. It’s a damn good thing too, had I not, I don’t know how I coulda kept up. Everyone was doing the dip and the butterfly, getting freaky from the left and to the right, it was a proper hip-hop samba into the night.
On Saturday, we hosted Simply the Best, featuring Denver’s Best of non-traditional DJ’s that included our own ladies’ night magic mama Ginger Perry, followed by the infamous Peter Black rocking out his signature progressive techy house tunes and Boyhollow the godfather of Lipgloss, one of Denver’s longest running dance parties.
Represent!
This week will be no less of a criminal rock ‘n’ roll spectacle. Sartin out Tuesday with ROCKSTAR AARON on the tables and it’s all down hill from there. Ginger Perry Thursday ladies night is sure to gratify your needs to bring on the weekend early. We’ll show our love for the weekend warriors with Friday night’s Juice Box Party brought to you by Denver’s Tuckahoe and the London Dungeon. Their specialty? Pure filth, grime and slime that gets yo mamms mounds shakin!
Whoo! As if that ain’t enough, Buffalo Exchange will host the Saturday night with John Nedza of Community Recordings who’s tracks can currently be found on JUNO’s top ten list. By way of London and then San Francisco, DJ Garth, the man responsible for the SF DJ scene will be digg’n deep playin’ all vinyl all night to rock your soul during one of his famous four hour sets.
Shit! I gotta go! Cant be wasting no time, I see more squats in my immediate future.
July 2nd Las Vegas: First Friday at the Get Back, the hottest dance party downtown with cool DJ’s heating up the crowd rocking out to funky soul sounds you can only hear on First Fridays.
DJ Day from Palm Springs brought an impressive record collection packed with funky sounds. DJ Shred and Johnny Rox squeezed out the hits, along with resident DJ’s John Doe, Danny Boy, Phoreyz, Aurajin and 8-bits. Boys and babes were shaking their bums to bombastic beats all night long.
